Lured (1947)
#1
There's a serial killer on the loose in London, taunting the police with poetic warnings, luring them through want ads. As beautiful women disappear, Scotland Yard recruits a beautiful undercover agent to answer every lurid want ad. And that agent is Lucille Ball. This is a great vehicle for her. She's glamorous and saucy, like Lucy but without the dumbness. The cops give her a silly test to see if she's paying attention, then hand her a pistol and she's on her way. The way every man luridly looks her over is so molesting. But those were different times and Lucy can handle herself, except at the very end where she becomes the damsel in distress. It's a thriller romance, and really hinges on Lucy.

There isn't a sword fight but a crazy Boris Karloff chases Lucy with a cutlass. It's the best scene in the film. Recommended for DOOM Lucy fans.
