Jamaica Inn (1939)
#1
An early Hitchcock featuring the debut of Maureen O’Hara and a despicable Charles Laughton. There’s villainy afoot at Jamaica Inn where Maureen hopes to find support from her aunt but instead falls in with the wrong crowd, wreckers who lure ships into the rocks, kills the crew, and pillages the cargo. It’s too early to really get that Hitchcock style, save for a few perfectly lit shots. Not a great story or film only to be seen for trivia’s sake.

No sword fights. Some shooting and shanking. Not DOOM recommended.
