I read this years ago and decided to revisit it. It held up well, and I enjoyed it. It was lively and well-paced, and the pirate talk was particularly entertaining, but I suppose by contemporary standards not that much happened. IMO much better than Kidnapped, which I recalled dragged in the middle. FYI, he invented the "fifteen men on a dead man's chest" song for the book, but only wrote the chorus.
