Sex Education (Netflix)
#1
Asa Butterfield and Gilian Anderson play mother and son. Asa is a teenager who can't masturbate. Gillian is a sex therapist with a penchant for one night stands. Yes, things are awkward at home. Asa is also on the geeky side of things at school without many friends. But all that living with his mother the sex therapist has given him sex therapy skills which he will be using on his classmates to earn money for the cool  girl in school, Maeve.

First off, completely raunchy. The show starts off with a couple having sex with the woman wanting to know if the man wants to cum on her tits. He seems totally bored. And it just goes on from there. There is lots of frank talk about sex. And Gillian is the most permissive mother ever wanting to know if the boys want booze and condoms as they head off to a party.

The show is quite funny, most of which stems from the awkward sex talk going around at school.

As with most high school comedies, none of the actors are no where near high school age. One of the leads who is supposed to be a junior or a senior is 41 years old according to his internet bio.

Now, I am sad. The series was only 8 episodes long and I have watched them all. The series kept getting better. The characters went places I didn't expect to see. There was heart amidst all the sex talk. All the kids lives were pretty messed up. The adults lives were messed up, as well.

The raunch does subside in favor of telling the more personal stories. I can't wait for season 2.

I saw a teaser clip on youtube that looked appealingly raunchy.  Your reviews offer further strong evidence the series has legs (and other protuberances).

Tempting.
