He was a beloved Kung Fu brother of mine and the cfs. We had just reconnected at our Sifu’s funeral. He was always strong and went into the kickboxing/MMA world running kids’ classes. Heart attack last night. I was just surfing Facebook before bed and saw all the tributes.
Damn there’s been a lot of death this year.

I talked to Vincent for 10 to 15 minutes at Sifu's funeral. He spoke of his approach and philosophy to teaching kids and how it could benefit them, and it was all good stuff. He really seemed to have his head on straight.
Back in the '80s in my early years at Wing Lam Kung Fu School, he stood out in my mind as someone who'd stepped straight out of a Shaw Brothers movie. He just had that chiseled Hung Gar look.

Which is funny because he was so Italian. But I totally agree, especially when we knew him and he rocked that long-ass queue.
Are either of the cfs going to go to the funeral next Monday? I'm planning to be there.
Damn, it's been almost a funeral per month for me this year.

It was a long and stressful day for several reasons. Rough traffic to get to the funeral. Open casket. Bonnie was in his fav dragon & tiger shirt, his five guitars nearby, casket draped with a quilt featuring the Lam Kwoon & smash gyms logos and band from Kiss to Wu-tang. I talked to Diana his widow, a brother-in-law, another smash coach, and several of his coworkers from fed-ex. Everyone was stunned by the loss.
What a surreal cyber Monday.

LC and I attended, but for a 6 pm funeral time posted online by Daniel, one of Vincent's closest friends (just a young boy when I was at Wing Lam Kung Fu School; I vaguely remember him). Anyway, he says he posted the time he was given, and it must have subsequently changed.
Anyway, we got there around 5:30 -- 5:45, and the services were over. Still, there were lots of people clustered about, chatting, and we were able to go up and pay our respects.

We must have just missed - I was late for the services too because of the same reason and arrived just after 6. I stayed for about an hour.
