The Hypnotist by Lars Kepler
#1
Are Swedish authors messed up or is just me? From Stieg Larsen to Jo Nesbo, the Swedes seemed to have problems. Okay, that is the extent of my knowledge of Swedish authors but I hope they aren't indicative.

In the first book of the tales of Joona Linna, Joona seems to be a secondary character in the quest to find out who committed the horrific murder of a family. It's mostly the story of the Hypnotist himself and the problems he is having with his own family. It seems the Swedes have plenty of skeletons in their closets and they keep popping itself.

You know early on who committed the murder and I wondered early where the book was going to go. Well, it goes ugly places mainly into the life of the Hypnotist and his early work as a therapist. There's kidnappings and kid gangs and nose choppings and all sorts of good stuff.

I have the next book on my shelf and I am still undecided if I wander further into the morass.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
