Produced by Tsui Hark. Colorful sword-fightin' fun. Not as incoherent as some of these Wuxia are. Based on Death Duel, which I'm pretty sure I've seen. Reluctant swordsman, greatest rival, politics, woman scorned, happy peasants, the usual. High production values, good acting, good choreography. Recommended.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.
