I was lukewarm about this show but Dee Dee really wanted to go.
I bought the first Spandau Ballet album because it was a $3.99 offering from Tower Records. It actually was really good with MTV hits like "Musclebound" and "To Cut a Long Story Short". Basically Duran Duran style New-Wave heavy on synths but genuine rock energy.
Then they released "Gold" which featured suave-wave hits like "True" and "Lifeline".
This show was a showcase of the suave-wave crap with a brief medley of the good early stuff. They even said "This is what we used to sound like" before playing 'Reformation'.
Whatever. Night out. No opening band.
