It's hard to imagine what my life would have been like without my mom. She was ever supportive of my artistic endeavors, and in large part shielded me from my dad, who was contemptuous of such lazy and wasteful pursuits (to him, the only honest endeavor was hard physical factory work). It feels odd not having her in existence anymore (she died last night just before midnight), though her presence will always be felt. Though a cliche, I'll say it: She was the best mom ever.

You know if you need me for anything, even if it's just to get drunk and watch bollywood flicks, just give me a holla.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
