And low on the horizon comes another comic book movie with Nicholas cage. The trailer made me chuckle. It did. A definite haha left my lips unimpeded.

Brad Allen is stunt/fight director. He was part of Jackie Chan's team and featured as the villain in Jackie's Gorgeous.

This one is for tQ. She doesn't seem to be on the Kick Ass bandwagon.

"Hit girl" and "Big Daddy"? Small child talking about "cock"? Nicholas Cage? Ugh. I think I'm out.

Went this afternoon. Hit Girl's fight scenes are the highlight of the movie, especially the bookcase/hallway scene and that and most of the others in the trailers above... There's an additional nice one with with a strobe light battle in slow-mo that's very good. Other than that, kinda forgettable.

The Queen must be out of town because I saw this and Ninja Assassin yesterday. See, we are still separate entities. The Lynchman Borg is not a reality.
As thatGuy says, you've seen most of the fight scenes in the trailer with the exception of the strobelight fight. This would have made tQ run screaming from the theater. It does try to add a strong sense of reality to the whole Superhero mythos. The outcome of Kickass's first battle ends quite unexpectedly. It is funny what makes him want to stop being a super hero. It does get a little too gritty with some scenes towards the end but then goes right back to humor. I think they were trying to figure out the tone for Kick Ass and never quite came up with the answer.
It's not bad. It's not great. Maybe wait for it on DVD. Or just watch all the trailers. It really should have been the Hitgirl movie. She was a much more dynamic character.

I guess there was a departure from the original story. I was talking to someone that just read the comic and he said that it was pretty rough. The mobsters torture Kick-Ass with battery cables to the testicles. The whole sub-plot of Big Daddy's wife doesn't exist, and Big Daddy finances his super-hero play by selling first issue comic books...

Remember Mirage Man?

I was amused by its color schemes. The fight scenes were disappointing, as was Nick Cage's performance (should have been more over the top).
