A laugh riot as photojournalists travel their way from New York to Washington, DC to get a photo of the president.
Yeah, no. This is a dark bit of theater that was really well made. The premise is correct but it is anything but light hearted. The United States is at war with itself with many different factions battling. The film was at times quiet. At other times just horrifying. Kirsten Dunst stars as the jaded photojournalist taking a newbie under her wing for the trip. In an odd way the arc of the movie reminded me of the Gregory Peck film, "The Gunfighter" where the aging gunfighter gives lessons to the wannabe gunfighter. And to get all arty, I thought the film made great use of misc-en-scene where things are happening in every layer of the screen from foreground to background.
There are a lot of echos to our current time, naturally. I think the recent election result makes the film a bit more horrifying.
It's a well made film but it is going to be harsh.

As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
