I found out on Scapino's fb feed. 

Such an influential filmmaker. So many tributes. I'm just sharing this one because it hit home for me.

My first big time Hollywood gig was at his studios in Santa Monica. I met a ton of people who go their start with him. I think I might have met him for a second when I got hired. I do know he was furious with the construction crew for cleaning out all the old sets on one of the sound stages (never throw anything out!) but it was made good when a group of investors came in and saw this really clean sound stage with a shiny new set on it.
