Not bad. Hugh Grant is a has-been who doesn't particularly mind being a has-been so long as there's at least a few someones who still remember, Drew Barrymore plays an extremely neurotic person. I always buy her as a crazy person - can't imagine why. I don't buy Hugh falling for her as the formula requires, but whatever. Loved Kristen Johnston (she was Sally in 3rd Rock from the Sun) - played Drew's older sister who was in love with Hugh Grant's 80's band -- loved pretty much every one of her scenes. Also wish there had been more of Aasif Mondi - just one little voice-over and two silent reaction shots. Waste of talent - his work on the Daily Show indicates that he's ready for something bigger. The movie starts with the "video" of Hugh Grant 80's band "Pop!" and it's just terrifying. The "pop-up video" version of the video in the credits is very funny.

There was actually a very useful piece of dialog in this film that I plan to steal. Kristen Johnston's character runs a weight-loss program with some kind of associated store, and Hugh goes into the store, and asks the girl at the counter what she weighs. She answered, "I fluctuate." I think that's a GREAT way to answer that question! I wonder if I could have that put on my driver's license???
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
