Bridge to Terabithia

Haven't read the book.

If you have, then you know why I was totally thrown off my seat by some events. Aaarg!

This film is really well done, even if it's not what you might expect. Kids movie? Not so much, really. Adolescent movie, maybe. No doubt much to talk about after with the little ones.

Directed by Gabor Csupo, co-founder of Klasky-Csupo, the originators of Rugrats and the original production house of The Simpsons. He'll keep getting this kind of work. Very well done. Nice effects by those good people in New Zealand.

You'd think he know how to use a forum by now.

Drunk Monk Wrote:Airplane movies count as DVDs.

Was thinking about taking the cub to this one. Now glad I didn't. It's a decent film, but it makes a harsh turn that she's not really ready for. If you know the book, or anything about it, you know. I didn't, so it caught me off guard and worked.

Well actualized, all in all. The effects so touted in the trailer play second fiddle to a decent story. Didn't care for the lead character, but AnnaSophia Robb was really good. I liked her in Because of Winn Dixie and in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She's made it to my 'ones to watch' list.

I like goofy kids movies.

Thanks for making me bawl like a baby for 15 minutes.

This movie is up there with 'Radio Flyer' and 'Big Fish' for uplifting family fare.

For my next trick, "The Iron Giant' laugh-fest!
