I have a couple on the grounds. They are over 30 feet tall......
I'm happy with the fake tree. I don't have to kill a tree every year and I save a lot of money.

Last year we decorated a dead bamboo "bush" that was vaguely xmas tree shaped. We brought it in and I made a stand and it was decent, but the branches were slightly long and that made it difficult to place in the corner easily (we have the same problem with cut trees).
This year, I decided I would make a tree form out of the seasonally retired tomato cages. I had an LED faux tree branch with leaves. I I put that atop the tomato cages that I wired two together in tiers to get a multi-level effect ("Ni!"), wrapped the lights and some garland on it and then over-wrapped that with some wide xmas fabric ribbons so you can see the lights come thru. Then I put on our few ornaments. It was really a trial run and needs a bit more work. Since the spokes of the tomato cages are three, when wrapped, they don't for a circular shape, but go point-to-point, so I have dubbed this year's tree "The Christmas Pylon". Our caganer is sitting in the middle beneath the cones (I shouldn't tell you...he's supposed to be the Where's Waldo of Christmas). I learned recently that Trader Joe's has a festive pine garland for ~$10. So I'll probably get on of those. The bamboo tree has been relegated to the yard and has two solar powered LED snowflake ball things that slowly glow in and out of existence. One day, I want to do a cartoon video of an animated Xmas tree with two large ornaments singing AC/DC's "I've got big balls"...I'm sure it will be the next holiday hit. --tg

I switched to LEDs for the colored lights (the old school size, C9 I think) two or three years ago. Every year I needed to replace 2-4 bulbs (either from failure or the colored coating coming off the bulb), and often broke one or two putting them up and taking them down. When it was time to put them up that year, I couldn't find any replacement bulbs, so I tossed them and got new strings. Unfortunately the new ones don't blink, so that's a loss, but I do have the dripping icicle lights. I should probably put an LED bulb in the blow-mold snowman too.

I have a string of 3000 Led lights. They have built in automation that makes them sparkle, glow, flicker, etc. It's probably inducing epileptic fits in the neighbors. I have it set on random.

We had a living tree one year for our Fremont house. We planted it in the yard on top of our rabbit Alice's burial place. Last time I was by, when we lost our crappy tenants during the pandemic (good riddance) that tree had grown nicely. It's maybe 10 ft or so now.
I really disdain xmas for so many reasons. Its some sort of cultural joke to make us feel better during the darkest nights of the year. And this year has been exceedingly stressful. Bah humbug.

In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

I've been practicing my holiday music on the ukulele. All set for a sing along. I just need to memorize some of the hard chords.
