A documentary about the antiquarian book scene. Very NYC right down to the Jewish dealers and soft jazz soundtrack. Love books? Yeah, I know you do. All DOOM luvs books. Hell, many of us were in the book biz. It should be in the feckin DOOM charter. Must luv books. DOOM book lovers, this doc is for you.
It’s a bit rambling but it keeps coming back to cool books and libraries (the Escher themed private library ... nuf said, amirite?) There’s a lot about how the Internet is killing the industry. And then there’s books. Hundreds of thousands of books. Jeweled books. Autographed first editions. Rare curio books. Some worth millions. Despite its tangential storytelling, we were both engaged.
No swords at all. DOOM recommended.
