The other film directed by and starring Veronica Ngo. It's really bad. First off - it's a new year's flick. Chinese CNY flicks are terrible except back when Jackie was dominating. They are mostly goofball rom-coms and insufferable. Apparently Tet films are the same.
Ngo plays straight woman to Le Khanh, who is allegedly a Vietnamese comedian of some repute. They are fairies sent down from the heavens to modern day Saigon to find the lost dragon prince. There's demons trying to stop them. The effects are cheesey bad and the humor went flying past me. Maybe it was a lot of puns that didn't translate (this is alluded to by some of the more explicit subtitles).
The celestial heavens is all really bad CGI, making this look like a 90s videogame. The lost dragon is in a circus of orphans. He's all grown up by then. There is a point in Harry Potter in the books when Rowling teases that Neville is actually the chosen one and I've always thought that would've been the best plot twist, even better than her Snape one. This movie actually goes there but it's way too late. Also too late is a fight scene between Ngo and the demon. She's got some moves but they are wasted here.
The film does pose the question - would it be worth it to kiss Veronica if she barfed in your face right after?
No sword fights. Definitely not DOOM recommended. Not at all.
