Have a Good Trip
#1
This Netflix doc had some funny stories, and a Fred Williard cameo that was happy yet sad since he just passed away today.

Just saw this as well. Seemed a little dull but that might be because I don't partake. Lots of great cameos, though. And did have an engaging structure.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

That was amusing but it failed to make the bridge. Those of us who are 'experienced' could relate to the experiences, but I can imagine where it falls flat to the unexperienced, thus Greg's dull reaction. That exposes the constant flaw in trying to capture the trip. It's so difficult to distill the experience into something non-trippers can understand. I've always thought that if I could translate that, I could be the next Emerson. I've tried, but it's damn hard. It's like preachin to the choir.

Carrie Fisher's story was the best (asleep on stage with the Dead in front of a speaker? Why wasn't I on that call?) and I was amused that both her and Rosie Perez ended up topless. I felt they short-sheeting Bill Kreutzman. Sting and Sarah Silverman were amusing - very resonnating.

I should've been the talking head instead of that professor dude they used, especially for the Bad Trips parts.

Only some of the animation worked for me, but I did like the dissolves into perfed sheet designs. The last time Dead & Co rolled through, I made a laminate that was b-sided with a perfed Dead Dancing Bears image. Only the old Deadheads got it. To the nooBs (90% of Rock Med) it remains a mystery. They would probably find this dull too, but would brag about seeing it at RM as if it gave them some new authority.
