I revisited this because it was the final outing for the TNG crew and Picard picks up after it, yet I'd largely forgotten it. It's not bad and I take back what I said about the TNG movies. In many ways, they set this up to be TNG's Wrath of Khan. It's got a major ...well, nemesis, big starship battles, a doomsday weapon, and the death of the 'logic' character. I forgot Tom Hardy was the nemesis. He wasn't even on my radar back then and I didn't recognize his younger self. He also had a super cool villain outfit, all dark yet iridescent - the cosplayer who nails the details of that is a true master. Romulans were the TNG Klingons and the Remus Romulans were basically Romulan orcs. I enjoyed it much more this time around and it did fill in some Picard easter eggs.
No sword fights but some dumb Romulan knives. DOOM has likely already seen this but also doesn't remember it that well so only recommended if you go for Picard.
