I only ever managed to get through The Knight and The Magician. I enjoyed both very much.
But the thing about Mr. Wolfe that is rattling my brain, that I just learned, is that he also was one of the engineers on the machine that makes Pringle Potato Chips.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

I took a week of vacation from my crappy post-college clerical job (last job pre-Stenograph). Went alone, read all my books on the flight delays and had nothing to read once I arrived, which kind of sucked, because there really wasn‘t a whole hell of a lot for me to do! The hotel I booked had an English language rack of paperback books and that’s where I discovered Gene Wolfe. The Shadow of the Torturer and the Claw of the Conciliator became my beach buddies.
