"Me Too"
#1
Is anyone else getting weird vibes watching pre-"Me Too" movies and TV?

I am actually painting a 'wide brush' picture of media I used to enjoy but now think 'that is demeaning, objective and inappropriate' .

It's a weird sense of history. It's like Al Jolson being forgiven for blackface, or "Amos and Andy" being forgiven for racism because the white actors were actually pretty funny.

So many novels, records and film that will be lumped into misogynistic content (James Bond films come to mind).

I hope this awareness will translate into "OK for the time" categories.

Yup. When I hear “Baby, it’s cold outside”, when I see Pepe LePew, pretty much all “Taming of the Shrew” variations that were/are/were so popular.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.
