G got the whole audience to chant 'fuck Donald trump' - that was entertaining. Now he's doing the right vs left side schtick. I'm hunting for snacks.

Bleachers are pretty full. The field is comfortably full but far from packed. I can get halfway up easily. The stage half is reserved for fire survivors. Fog has come in but it's not to cold. Pleasant.

So I was tasked with a radio and psych, as always.  I had only one other psych person, but it was the Dead so there were a lot of veteran RMers.  It was quiet for most of the night as I reported above.  Had one call - a P.O who drank a whole bottle of whiskey on an empty tummy and lost his phone, wallet and badge.  He was with a hot nurse gf in a tiny black dress.  She took care of him. 

Note that RM was only a sobering station.  AT&T has regular medical doing trauma and we worked well with them.  RM had way more vols than needed, but that was cool because this was a benefit and everyone was donating their services, top to bottom.

Then just before Dead&Co, we got a high maintenance tripper.  I missed the whole damn set.  NEVER SAW THE BOYS ON STAGE.  Dammit.  Fortunately, we could hear it very well in RM.  And we all wound up singing the last few songs together, to help focus the IPR.  A true Dead song talkdown, like old times, quite the flashback for an RM quartet (me, the other psych and two nurses).  And we sounded damn good, surprisingly so because none of us can really sing that well (although I can deliver a mean Heartbreak Hotel with Greg when tequilaed up).  The IPR tho, he was off key. He was 18, never saw Jerry, but knew all the lyrics.  He got grabby and pinchy, so we restrained him physically and chemically.  Once the Dead was done, I bailed - I had given notice that I would due to my lingering cold I cemented up at the Fox last week, but really, I just wanted to get out of there before the crunch exodus.  The show supe took over my restraint position and I ran for it.  I should follow up later to see if that patient made it back or had to be rolled.  

The set sounded good.  Some complained that it was too soon to play Fire on the Mountain, but that was actually inspired by a North Bay fire according to Hunter.  And the segue from that to Not Fade Away, then Touch of Grey was solid.  The NFA>TOG jam surprised me, something Dead&Co hasn't done so far.  Well played.  

Caught Metallica's first song and bailed.  By then, the place was packed, which was great because it was a benefit and hopefully raised a lot of money.  Metallica sounded great but I don't know their repertoire well enough to tell you which song it was.  I heard a rumor that Dead&Co came back on later, but I've not confirmed that.  I was home by 11:30.

As a side note (and I feel I have to share this as the token drug-user/non-white/provost/studmuffin in DOOM) that was a run of 4 RM shows in 3 weeks: Odesza>BOO!>M.I.A.>Band Together.  I was flying solo throughout - no accomplices, sidekicks, disciples or partners-in-crime - and I was stone cold sober for all of them.  Usually I'll have a beer or a toke, but you'll notice that the Mr. Hyde (DM) hasn't posted in lieu of my Dr. Jekyll (me in 1st person) in some time.  The DM hasn't really been D, so he's been restrained.  It's not that I'm going sober yet, far from it, it's just the way the cards fell.  And I did notice that I was far less compassionate to the patients.  Perhaps my compassion stems from being well medicated?  I don't know.  Anyways, I don't have any more RM planned until NYE maybe.  The holidays look too busy for me to put time in volunteering for RM.  Just not feeling it.
