Secret Life of Pets

It was 90+ degrees and we were on vacation, so we went to see this in the Cinemark 16 on Shoreline. The theater was nice, with recliners and reserved seating.

I had low expectations so I was quite pleased. It was entertaining and not big on giving a lesson. It looked good and there were some funny bits.

The previews were for things that mostly looked terrible, particularly one where Kevin Spacey is a real estate tycoon and bad parent, so Christopher Walken turns him into a cat, and he can only become himself again by loving his family, and he's their pet. Or something. Weren't those two serious actors once?

There was a stand-up in the lobby for a remake of Ben-Hur! I am curious about that. I love the original.

Serious actors? What does that even mean now?

Tara liked it. She told me there was a Pom, which is grounds alone for me to see this.

There is a fluffy white dog, voiced by Jenny Slate, which I guess could be a Pom. She has some good lines. I've always liked her.

Better than I expected even with the inclusion of Kevin Hart who I find tedious. (Kevin Hart was once described as the African-American Dane Cook)

It's a whole story about what Pets do when you aren't around, starring Louis CK and Eric Stonestree and a bunch of other voice you recognize. Basically the dogs get lost and have to find the way back to their masters. Contretemps ensue! The story kept changing which was good. It was funny. The animation was really good.

If there was a throw down between Zootopia and SLoP, I'd go with SLoP.

As an added bonus, my cousin, who doesn't know I exist, wrote it.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
