So you guys know I'm a 'classic' rock fan. The only Metallica album I own is their 'sell out' "Black Album". However, I joined their fan club because it was free and I thought it would give me free downloads or something.

Anyway, I got an email that let me enter a lottery for Fox concert tickets at $25.00. Sure, why not?

I won.

I am now a hardcore Metallica fan. This is my 3rd time seeing them (after ATT park and Bridge School Benefit) and really like the vibe at the shows. Metal fans remind me of Dead fans. Everyone is really kind to each other. Lots of folks bring their kids and the atmosphere is more like a circus than a music show. Metal artists (that I've seen) are all about "we love you, and you need to love each other" during song breaks. Then it's "Kill 'em All" and mosh pits. Music is weird.

It was interesting that there were no 'tickets'. I had to present my credit card and ID to get in. This discouraged 'bots'.

I still think Lars is a putz, but James seems like a good guy, and I would love to share a beer with Kirk.

I was thinking about rockmeddin this but didn't get it together. Had I known you were going ED I might have made more of an effort. My rm friends who went said they tore it up. I regret missing it now, but I'm still playing major catch up at work and with Xmas.

Lars Ulrich seems like a complete douche. I've never met the man, but I've seen him interact with people at various music events and his ego is ginormous.

James Hetfield seems like a nice guy with whom I would have nothing in common.

Kirk Hammet is the guy I'd like to hang out with.

That being said I cannot deny they give 110% during their show.

I think Gene Simmons is a complete douche too but one of the best shows I've seen was a KISS concert.

Seperating the art from the artist, the sin from the sinner, the wheat from the chaff and who's your favorite Sybil personality?

We all show different faces to different people.
