Coincidentally, i first heard on tQ's fb feed. Always best to hear such news from a friend.
Also coincidentally, I was just watching the original pilot again on Netflix on Wednesday. That's the only one that they didn't update the special effects and wisely so.
Once again, I mourn the passing of Spock, only this time for real.

I used to have an IDIC. I'm not sure what became of it. I've been thinking of what to wear as a symbol of mourning.
I used to have a U.S.S. Enterprise Medical pin - a nice cloisonne one that used one of the movie emblems. I gave that to a dearly departed Nurse friend at RM. She had to wear this weird Star-Trekkish back device, a massive contraption of grey plastic and electrodes, in her last years. She always admired that button as I worn it at RM for years, so I gave it to her.
I know I have some nice Klingon pins. Go figure, right? I also have a Mirror Mirror patch sewn on an old jacket that might still fit.
Coincidentally, my daughter just gave me one of those small sheet metal punch-out-&-fold models of the Enterprise for Valentine's Day. I haven't tackled it yet. It's tiny and I'll need my glasses.
Maybe I'll watch Wrath of Khan again tonight. The death scene ALWAYS gets me. I'm sure it'll really get me now.

That happened fast. It seemed like non-news when he went to the hospital earlier this week.
But then again maybe he was sickly for awhile without us knowing it.
So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit
