We watched this while playing monopoly so not all the attention was focused on it.
I was a little disappointed. I remember the tale - I think I was taught about it in elementary or something. The journey didn't seem hard enough. Six guys on that raft? Should have been more claustrophobic. Also, the guy playing Thor didn't have a hammer and reminded me faintly of Michael Palin. There was some shark problems, but that seemed weak in comparison to Sharknado. There was some beautiful ocean scenes - whales, glowing jellyfish, but that seemed weak in comparison to Life of Pi. No sword fights. Not even a sword fish fight.
S liked it and was the one who pushed us to see it (a flailing tactic to win a monopoly). T hated it because of the bloody shark gutting and her general dislike of films about drowning. I felt you could get a better experience by watching a triple feature of Life of Pi, Life of Brian and Sharknado.
