Okay, so some Irish film makers went to every film agency in the UK and Ireland and raised money to make a monster movie. I'm going to say it's closest relative has to be Tremors.

A meteor crashes into the ocean off the coast of Erin Island (No such place) off of Ireland. Bad things happen. First with the fisherman who were near the meteor crash.

Meanwhile, back on Erin, a new Gardai has arrived to take the place of the police chief while he goes on Holiday. The remaining alcoholic Gardai is not pleased by this spit and polished female Garda from Dublin. A lobsterman catches a strange creature in his lobster trap. It looks like a octopus but with three times as many legs and a long it can spit out to impale it's prey. People start disappearing on the Island. Dead whales wash up on the beach. The drunk Gardai has Rom-Com fights with the new Garda. It has all the typical monster movie elements including a scene from Night of the Living Dead(They're coming to get you Barbara)

I guess what makes this Irish and Special and completely stereotypical is the cure they get for the monster attacks. It turns out the monsters don't like drinking their victims blood if there is alcohol in it. Naturally the plan is to ride out the storm and the monster attack by getting piss drunk while waiting for help to arrive from the mainland. Good times in the pub.

It is a very slight film. The effects are bad. The acting is odd. But since they have accents they immediately get higher acting marks. The story is silly, but that might have been the point. It was an enjoyable hour and half time kill on the plane. Not quite sure how it ended since I was nodding off towards the end.

Does anyone cry out, "Damn you, Sharktopus!"?
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
