After the downer that is Flight, I was looking forward to Robot and Frank starring Frank Langella and Susan Sarandon. It was positioned as a light-hearted comedy about an old cat burglar that teaches his robot nurse companion to help conduct a couple more robberies.
At it's most basic, that is what happens. But the Frank also suffers from Alzheimer's and the past and present are tenuous concepts. The nurse robot agrees to help with the burglaries in an effort to keep Frank in the present which works for a while. The movie moves at a glacial pace. The jokes are seldom seen or heard. The movie is about a man losing himself and that is never fun to watch.
One really poor car chase which has Frank being chased by the local law enforcement. It lasts one bend in the road.
