Disappointing. There were some rather funny lines, but the comic timing was off, so they didn't play out with the usual Aardman hilarity. The animation was decent - stop-motion fused with CGI - made for ok 3d throughout, but not really stunning enough to make you flinch. Expected more. Save the extra $4 and skip the 3d. HP factor = 2: Umbridge & Crouch Jr. (Dr. Who). There was one swordfight - after all, it was a pirate flick - and a lot of brandishing. The swordfight could have been much better SPOILER unless you're into queens in lingerie, and some of you probably are END SPOILER. Salma stole the show, even tho she was hardly in it. Grant wasn't permitted to stammer, so he was hardly recognizable - perhaps that's what killed a lot of the comic timing.
