[Haggis Killer]

Seriously, why did they use the book title? They should have come up with something different to call it. Like "D'Artangnan's Quest" or "Milady's Troubled World". Something. I don't know. I mean, all the characters were in there, called the right things, and they kept a handful of things from the book, but really, not a 3 Musketeers movie. It's more like Pirates of the Caribbean, which they were clearly trying to emulate. The costumes are rather amazing. Nice shoes throughout. Poor weapons. Ok, caveat. Poor swords. The wacky made up weapons are mostly pretty cool. And there are a whole mess of those. The ONLY thing missing from this almost-Steampunk farce is a herd of FLAMING BULLS! But I saw that in another, better, movie recently, so I guess it's really ok.

This movie confused the shit out of me. Comedy? Action/Adventure? Comedy? Drama? Comedy? Melodrama?

I mean, I laughed a fair bit. Was I supposed to? Didn't pay to see it in 3D, so I feel pretty good about that.

None of the people who are supposed to die die. One that isn't, does. Go figure.

I was toying with the idea of seeing this. I was going to justify that because I needed fodder for my Puss in Boots kung fu review, but in truth, it was really about a Milla-fix, which is absurd since I'm not seen any of the RE flicks or even Ultraviolet, so it's not like I really care at all about her.

Poor swords and nice shoes in 3 Musketeers? 'nuf said.
