All I can say is thank god they've fallen.
This was the third book in a trilogy. I'd reccommend the first book, but then you would want to read the final book and I can't put you through that.
It's a walking book full of darkness, malaise, hunger, fear, paranoia and mud mixed with snow. Let's go here! Okay, that didn't work. Let's go here. Hmm, that didn't work either. Oh, let's go here. Oh, wait, I'm dead. End of book Meanhwile, darkness falls across the world. Everybody slips into madness except for one or two characters that fight the miasma that clouds the world. And not a drop of humour to be had anywhere. Even the villain has to struggle against his own villainy because it's not doing what he wants. I'm just tired of walking and then sleeping in the snow without a fire. And everybody is fucking weeping.
In the beginning, I liked the story of the Black Road and a world abandoned by the Gods. In the end, I wished I could have told that guy in the beginning to just hold a on a minute, maybe read something else.
