Ever wonder what you would do if you were one of the crew of the Nostradamus? Or even a Space Marine on a secret mission? Dead Space has the answer. You'd sh%t your pants.
The premise is about as sci-fi horror cliche as it gets. You answer a distress call, only to find the imperiled ship ship devoid of life forms. Or is it?
Of course not! Aliens have turned the crew into monstrous zombies! They howl and scream as the relentlessly hunt you down. Too bad you damaged your ship during the rescue and can't get away! The only recourse is to attempt to repair the ship you are on, send your own distress call or kill every zombie on board!
The thing that makes this game better than Doom 3 is the sound. It's like some Michaelangelo of terrifying sounds uploaded his entire library. Theres your standard drips, creaks and groans but there's also shrieks of tortured zombies, things crawling through the vents and periodic explosions as systems fail. You also hear your own heartbeat and breathing. I swear there are subsonics because occasionally I lose control of my bowels.
