Journey to the Center of the Earth
#1
My 13 year old niece was in town, so we had to find a suitable film, and she wanted to see this. We didn't see the 3-D version, but I don't think it would have been much better (I'm going on my memories of Jaws 3-D on that). I was entertained, but it was not that good. There were huge holes in the plot, and they didn't find Atlantis like in the original film. Plus no James Mason. Brendan Fraser is affable as always, but didn't have much to do. I have to say that I had some hopes for him as an actor after I saw Gods and Monsters, but he went in another direction. He screamed in fear a lot, which seems to happen in most of his recent films. CGi was pretty good, and it looked good on the whole. And some nice shots of the countryside in Iceland.

Do I recommend it? No, but I think DM would enjoy it more than 10,000 BC. My wife thought it was stupid, and said that the only enjoyable thing about it was watching Brendan Fraser.
