DEVO - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-04-2008 I hope somebody in the brotherhood is going to this show next week at the Warfield. Sure, it's tied into Microsoft, but sometimes you have to dance with the devil. Maybe Rockmed is establishing a presence? Plus, i didn't realize the Devo song from the Dell ads happens to be a brand spanking new song. I'm tempted to the road trip . . . . . January 15th, huh... - Drunk Monk - 01-04-2008 ...I could work that. I work the Warfield all the time and it's on a Tuesday. But Mrs. DM has a client due right around then, and I'd rather save my nights out this January for some Dead-family events. I'll probably pass. Besides, after DEVO 2.0, I don't think I could run the old program anymore. http://disneymusic.disney.go.com/albums/devo20.html Naivite Gone - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-04-2008 Why did you have to link that, DM, why? I was on a mini-high from learning of the new Devo track and then this happens. I have to go wash. Which on the plus side, will make the Queen happy. don't mess with the mouse - Drunk Monk - 01-04-2008 DEVO 2.0 redefines the sell out. Did you listen to any of the tracks? You really won't get the full impact until you do. Better yet, just watch one of their music vids. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlYLuttV4aM Hard to tell from the original, eh? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxH39QlRuhg&feature=related - El Dingo - 01-04-2008 I've seen them a couple of times and they put on a great show, but $40 is just a wee bit overpriced. Devo Ticket Info I'd MAYBE pay that to see Led Zeppelin. I listened! - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-04-2008 I now have cotton in my ears. I'm using parental controls in my browser to keep me from ever going to that site again. Aacck. Now I've seen the video, too. Does it sound like they might be singing over Devo's original tracks? good lord! - Drunk Monk - 01-04-2008 Are three of us online on this thread at the same time? All hail the power of DEVO 2.0!!! Sucked down the shithole together. - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-04-2008 I'm going back to the Devo myspace page to here the new song before I start crying. Ah, much better - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-04-2008 Did I ever tell you about the time I had to drag a fainting Jennifer Bailey out of the crowd at a Devo concert? It was some arena in San Francisco. Never get to close to the mosh pit when you are shorter than the crowd. Funny you should mention Jennifer... - Drunk Monk - 01-04-2008 ...I saw her on Wednesday. She did hair for the whole family. She's also training for a half marathon. And I can beat your Jenn-faints-at-Devo tale with ease. Jennifer was at Tara's birth. She fainted there too. Looks like ED got wise and bailed. So now it's just you and me here, Greg, just like always. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Sure - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-04-2008 But I don't think your night ended like mine did. bon touche mon ami - Drunk Monk - 01-04-2008 Anyway, you'll be glad to know that Jennifer is doing well and my hair is trimmed for once. Facial Hair? - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-04-2008 You should get her to post to really stir things up. Or make them awkward and uncomfortable. she hates the web - Drunk Monk - 01-04-2008 She doesn't even do email. She's not a cell phone/laptop person and doesn't have a computer at work. Forces me to call her. It's so 20th century... I got a new whip! - Drunk Monk - 01-24-2008 One of my disciple brothers gave me a nice shaolin whip. it's well made, not the tourist crap, with a nicely-turned hardwood handle, tapering braided black leather, a cracking tip made of braided nylon, and a red horsehair tassel. It's about 5 feet long and would be really easy to crack if it wasn't for my messed up elbow and shoulder. Gotta work on my left-handed whipping skillz. Quote:Crack that whip. For the longest time, I thought the 2nd line was "give some ass a slap". |
