Ballard - Drunk Monk - 07-10-2025 (06-11-2025, 11:26 PM)Drunk Monk Wrote: Ballard I’ve always liked Maggie Q. Daniel Wu dated her for a moment and told me some tales. This is a police procedural spin-off of Bosch (which I’ve never watched at all). Ballard is a detective with a history, betrayed by the LAPD and demoted to working cold cases with a squad of volunteers. I’m 2 eps in (10 hour-long eps). The whole season is about a serial killer. The 1st ep didn’t grab me and I was going to bail but decided to check out another and now I’m engaged. Bosch makes a cameo but not having seen it, that wasn’t as dramatic for me. Nevertheless the show is well paced and the characters are growing on me. Maggie is delivering a solid performance, perhaps a tad overdone but this is TV. I’ll watch another ep.
