I loved kaiju flicks growing up. Those and martial arts movies were the only fare where I could see Asian role models, which explains a lot about me developmentally.
But I disdained Gamera. Gamera was my least favorite kaiju. I watched most all the Gamera films, hoping they might get better, but I always found myself rooting for the kaiju villains. I also hated the annoying kid that was always the protagonists.
This ‘rebirth’ has 3 annoying kids. A swarm of dragon-like creatures emerge from a deep mine and wreck havoc on Shinjuku. The kids are caught in the middle with a gang of bullies. Gamera shows up. Battles ensue.
I did like the kaiju scenes. They even gave Gamera a plodding walk like a guy in a rubber suit. I hated the kids. I hoped they’d get eaten. I may watch another ep but it’ll probably be a fast forward to the fight scenes viewing. 6 45 min eps. Too much.
Not D00M recommended.

I see Gamora and I think Gamera...you never see them in the same movie...coincidence?

Ariana Greenblatt plays Gamora.
Takateru Manabe and Jun Suzuki played the original Gamera.
I should think that would be clear enough, much simpler than the Cena/Cera confusion.
I just realized that this new anime Gamera doesn't spin when it flies. It flies like a jet plane. That ruins everything.
