RIP Steve Harwell - Drunk Monk - 09-04-2023 Saw Smash Mouth at the boardwalk in 2015 http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomForum/showthread.php?tid=3396&pid=21429#pid21429 I imagine tg might have more to say. RE: RIP Steve Harwell - thatguy - 09-04-2023 I just saw the news that he was in hospice about an hour ago with liver issues. My understanding is that he's a bit of an a$$hole. Greg Camp (who was in a couple of First Strike bands when Number Nine was the cool thing) wrote most of the material, but left the band over "differences". I saw that some iteration on Smashmouth, with a different lineup was playing the county fair circuit a few years ago. There's a clip of Steve ranting at the audience. Seemed like a Trump rally kind of thing. I'm not a big fan, but it was nice to see some locals make it... --tg RE: RIP Steve Harwell - King Bob - 09-05-2023 Apparently he became a big drunk - which was not mentioned on the news, naturally. I remember they also fired their drummer because he was an asshole. I did like "Walking on the Sun." I once heard a remix that made it less of a 60s garage rock throwback, and it was even better. RE: RIP Steve Harwell - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 09-05-2023 I saw a bunch of pro LGBT & pro Trans tweets he did. So that's good. RE: RIP Steve Harwell - Drunk Monk - 09-05-2023 The Boardwalk had a nice tribute on their IG today https://www.instagram.com/p/Cw0bt-JIq_t/ Quote:beachboardwalk |
