Die Hart - Drunk Monk - 02-25-2023
The funniest thing about this is the title. Kevin Hart plays Kevin Hart. He wants to be a leading action star instead of the Rock’s comic relief. Jean Reno plays a leading action director who says he has the perfect role for Hart but he has to go to a stunt school, run by a psycho John Travolta. But there’s a twist.
If you like watching Hart get abused, and I confess that I kinda do, this is all about humiliated Hart repeatedly. Travolta over plays his role - it would’ve been better served by JCVD. There’s a hawtty, Natalie Emmanuel from Fast & Furious. Watching her beat the crap out of Hart is the best scene.
I don’t disdain Hart as some others here, but I’m not a fan either. He has one note and since he’s playing himself, that’s all you get. His self deprecating humor is high here, which is somewhat redeeming, but not enough.
Not D00M recommended at all.
