I suppose I could tack this on to the Orlando thread.
Cameron is a good friend of Tara's from Mt. Madonna. He wasn't in her class but they hung out a lot. Alex too (he went backpacking with Greg and I last July). They were a clique and hung out all the time.

Btw Lane is Cameron’s dad. He bought him the trip. Those tickets cost millions, probably more than all our incomes combined.
Tara says it’s hard to talk to Cameron sometimes. He lives in another world.

Saw Alex today (Tara stayed with us last night to visit her Cruz friends). They both shook their heads at Cameron. He’s playing up that he’s the first openly gay person in space (he’s a furry too). There’s an aspiration to parlay this into becoming some sort of influencer, but being born with a gold spoon, he’s never struggled or done any work at it, so they doubt it’ll play out well. Both just hope he remembers them when he buys on to the escape ship to Mars when the apocalypse strikes.

Just saw Cameron and Lane Bess on GMA. Because of the Strahan play, GMA is giving a lot of coverage.
Cameron said he's just happy his dad brought him along. Yeah, no shit.
You must understand - Tara was really close to Cameron. Their clique was akin to D00M for us in High School.
Launch is tomorrow.
