Marie Antoinette - King Bob - 10-31-2006

Yes, actually I went to the movies. I enjoyed this very much. It's not a period film really; you see little of the political situation of the time. It's more of a mood piece. Some of the modern music worked quite well, and Sophia Coppola has a good eye, so there were some great shots.

If you liked Lost in Translation, then you'll probably like it. If you didn't, then skip it.

This almost worked for me. Kristen turns in an interesting performance, moving going from vapid to sympathetic as quickly as a costume change. She looked great; It was hard to believe that Louis was having impotancy issues. Great costumes and sets. But it sorely needed some editing. It would have been fine at an hour shorter. Also the color schemes were so pastel, it was like watching an Easter basket for an hour and a half.

Flashback much? Watching an Easter Basket for an hour?

According to "Where Do Nudists Keep Their Hankies", Marie was married at 14 but didn't loose her virginity until 22. Apparently she kept her maidenhead hidden in an Easter Basket.
