Batman: Bad Blood - Drunk Monk - 10-07-2018

Ever since Batman Ninja (http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomForum/showthread.php?tid=4504) I've been interested in DC animated Batman. This one just came up on Netflix and it would've made a great live action film.  It would've taken DC and Batman to a whole new level.  It's deep comic Batman, far deeper than my token nerddom goes.  I didn't recognize most of the villains.  Batman goes missing.  Batwoman (new character for me), Nightwing (Dick grown up - I knew a little about that), Alfred, the new Robin (aka Damien, Batman's son via Talia) and Batwing (Lucius' son) go after Talia (new Robin's mom and daughter of Ra's al Ghul, voiced by the ever beguiling Morena Baccarin).  Batman goes batty under the influence of the Mad Hatter.  There's sword fights - Onyx wields a katana along with a coven of nuns (nunjas - yeah, that's a good line). There's some complex themes of parent/child relationships, of loss, of family, a lot more than what you might expect from a cartoon.  Not as glorious as Batman Ninja, but still entertaining. WB DC cartoons aren't bad.
