Ordeal by Innocence - King Bob - 10-01-2018

English 3 part mini-series (on Amazon but I think I read that it was from the BBC) based on Agatha Christie's book. Well-done, with a great location. Bill Nighy and Anna Chancellor in main roles, with a bunch of people who looked vaguely familiar for the rest, but the only one I knew was Eleanor Tomlinson (Demelza on Poldark). I enjoyed it a lot. Nighy was good as always. It kept revealing a little more about all the characters and shifting what we think we know about them, with the big reveal right at the end of course. And only about three hours so no big time investment.

I do like Demelza.  Stacy is a fan of Poldark and we watched S4E1 last night.  She was disappointed because it's degrading to a soap opera.  I figured it opened with Poldark having a Mr. Darcy moment, and lots of shots of Poldark riding a horse dramatically, so it seemed the same to me.  But I do like Demelza.  And Elizabeth reminds me faintly of someone I used to date.  Needs sword fights tho.  They got swords.  Nice swords.  Use them, dammit.

Dramatic shows all have that "soap opera" problem. I think it's because they want to, or feel like they need to up the ante each season to keep people watching.
