The Crafters - Drunk Monk - 06-03-2016

Crepe Place 6/3/16

It's a friend's band. I luv bands that my friends are in. Heck I still cherish those #9 daze, and yearn to hear Mastadon Rock live again. Had some GREAT nights courtesy of #9.

The Crafters is a 5 piece: lead guitar/keys, drummer, standing bass, cello, & percussion. My friend is percussion - the dad of one of cat's classmates and a judoka so we've bonded over martial arts. They were the opening act for 2 bluegrass bands but I bailed already. They're blues/rock/hip hop.  Amusing for sure, especially at a club that I can stumble to. Crepe place is so close to my bungalow.

They play the Rio soon, opening for some surf flicks.  And the NewBo soon - might just go to support as I like that place.

Must have just missed you. I was there on the patio last night for dinner. Saw them set up. Heard them sound check (from outside). I didn't stay for music.

FYI: Across the street, next to Rio is a vintage clothing place called "Tomboy". They were having live music as well - a 3 piece: guitars, mandolin. Bluegrassy. Not bad. It's a tiny place, but it's nice to see them supporting live music.

NewBo is great. Try Discretion, behind Cafe Cruz sometime. Food is pretty good. Outside patio.

I thought of you as we once had a beer there. Must of felt the disturbance in the force....Sorry we missed.

Seabright was hopping with that, tomboy, the Rio and Lilian's reopening.

Agreed on Discretion - a very nice establishment to quaff brews....as if the Cruz doesn't have enough of those already.
