Jurassic World (2015) - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 12-07-2015

This movie is dumb, dumber than Spectre. And that movie was really dumb.

Maybe it would have been better on the big screen. Maybe it would have been better in 3-D. But how does all the shininess cover up the stupidity?

Basically, the dinosaur theme park has come to fruition. People journey from all over the world to visit with the dinosaurs. But profits are slipping because people are growing bored of seeing real live dinosaurs. Let's stop right there. Who would possibly be bored of seeing real live dinosaurs?

Naturally, they build a Frankenstein dinosaur to lure in the tourists which turns out to be more than they imagined and it escapes and people spend the rest of the movie running. Along the way, people learn a valuable lesson. And the lesson is, this film is dumb. Dumb.

Everything was implausible. Everything. I didn't like the lead couple. I didn't like the brothers. I didn't like the military cliche guys. And it would have made a great betting game to see if you could guess which characters would be dead by the end of the film. I would have won it all.

My biggest question was how did this film become the third highest grossing film of all time? Maybe people are dumb, too.

RE: Jurassic World (2015) - King Bob - 04-27-2016

I pretty much agree. It seemed like a kid wrote the script. And while I like Chris Pratt, his constant tough guy squint was annoying. And he's supposed to be tough and capable, yet he is constantly putting down his gun or dropping it. My wife was annoyed by the changing hair of the lady scientist - flat-ironed straight at the beginning, but getting progressively curlier as she gets in touch with her feelings. I thought it was weird that the evil military guy looked sort of like Brian Dennehy and seemed to be trying to act like him.

I would have been angry if I had paid to see this. Luckily it was free HBO weekend.

Agreed, especially with the Brian Dennehy Connection. I'm glad I'm not the only guy who thought that.
