Cuban Fury - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 08-18-2014

Nick Frost wanted to remake a Step-Up movie with himself in the lead role. Okay. Turns out it was a really good idea. Very funny. Very heartfelt. Romantic. And lots of Salsa dancing. Good date night movie. Great Simon Pegg cameo and a might Salsa dance challenge.

My only question is how is Nick Frost still so big? Look, I know dieting. I've suffered through them. Still suffer through them. But Frost claimed in the outtakes (which were also good) that he trained 6 days a week for 7 months. He didn't look a pound lighter.

But even with his large girth, he did all the dancing very well. Good film.

Having met Nick through Into the Badlands, I'm catching up on his films. This one was sweet, and referenced in the interviews I did as proof that Nick can move. The dance duel was choreographed by Jackie Chan protege Brad Allen. Nick is great as the schlub, total opposite of his Bajie role. I've always thought Rashida was hot, but she can't salsa as well as Nick. O'dowd is a great sleazeball villain. Nick isn't as fat as he looks on screen. They say it adds pounds, right? He may have been bigger in this film, but he's not quite so fat in real life. He was quite charming in person, polite, humble and devilishly funny.

Next, Hot Fuzz, as it is also Netflixable.

Hot Fuzz! One of my faves!
