The Inside Man - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 03-29-2006 Oh my god, there is a Spike Lee film I like. It might have a lot to do with the fact that the film was produced by Brian Grazer and Spike was only brought in to direct. It's a bank caper with overtones. It is full of plot holes and jaw dropping logical fallacies but you just let it role over you. Clive Owen, Denzel, the killer from Serenity all do good jobs. The Jodie Foster scenario was a waste. Maybe she got sick of taking care of the baby and asked to be added to the film? On the whole, enjoyable. I'm sure it was faithful to it's source material. Because Hollywod never messes with the source material. Good, but... - The Queen - 03-29-2006 ...the camera work was particularly nauseating at times. What is the purpose of purposely-out-of-focus shots? I can understand fuzzing things up if there's an ugly chick that you don't want to get too close to, but that wasn't the issue here -- it was a blurry cops in front of building exterior. What's the purpose of waist-high, way-too-close close-up moving tour of items on a desk -- especially as we're NOT looking through the eyes of a child? Had NOTHING to do with the story. I don't mind having to hide my eyes in my boyfriend's chest if there's somethihng particularly scary or gory (in fact, I enjoy that very much) but I shouldn't have to do it to escape yet another effing going down a spiral staircase sequence!!!! Quit trying to make me puke! Back the eff up when you're shooting and keep it in focus!!! Maybe this should go in "Books" - Haggis Killer - 03-29-2006 Maybe you should read "The Art of Spike Lee". ...wait... ....ummmm..... Ok, never mind. Saw it. - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 04-05-2006 Liked it. Enough of the human parade to keep the color/flavor of New York going, good pacing, story had some holes, but the there were one or two surprises as well. Good dialog, good, solid acting from a bunch of good actors. Enjoyable. |
