This Girl is Bad Ass - Drunk Monk - 06-06-2013

This is a Thai romcom starring Jeeja Yanin (Chocolate and Raging Phoenix) as a bike messenger carrying 'stuff' for the mob and doing Jackie-Chan-esque comedy fights.
For DOOM, it offers the following:
Greg: Some nice shots of Thailand and a few funny plot twists
ED: midgets
CF: foot fetishism
KB: A clown that dressed badly, even for Thailand
PPFY: Funny fight feints
tg: elephant fights (this is only funny after you see it)
For all: absurdly silly fights but good action. starts a little slow - too much wire work - but then picks up speed later once they abandon their story arcs and focus on the fights. Jeeja is looking plain, not made up, and schoolgirl-ish, almost a bad Meg Ryan impersonation. she doesn't really carry the dramatic side well but she does kick ass and that's all that matters. It's never clear what the stuff is exactly - gotta assume drugs but it could be anything. I caught myself laughing several times, mostly a fight moves that were intentionally choreographed to be funny, but also at some of the general comedy of the film. Thai comedy is absurd, a little like Stephen Chow's mou lei tai, but not quite that over the top. No sword fights, but plenty of bike fu (although not quite on the level of Project A). Gun play, a good bike shop fight and It ends in a lumberyard warehouse fight. Warehouse fights are always my favs.
NOTE: I watched it without sound, as is my habit in the bungalow as it's so small and I don't want to keep the family up. The Thai language can be super annoying sounding, so that might spoil it with sound.

Just something to consider next time around -- unless they mess with your tinnitus.
imdb has all these keyword expressions for things that occur in movies. You know, like, "dog peeing on hydrant," or "man shot in chest." I'm thinking they should add a keyword for "bike shop fight that ends in lumberyard warehouse fight." I'd watch every single one of them.
Finally, my political incorrectness cries out for co-mention on the midget category.

It's been on my list. I stopped wearing headphones after my kid was born - never sure when she might call out so I don't feel comfortable in them anymore. It was a weird paranoid shift, which could easily shift back now, but hasn't. During my move, I found my old headphones - Sony Boodokan (or some misspelling of Budokan) - but they were in pretty bad shape so I tossed them. I should invest in a new pair - maybe those trendy Marley headphones which are probably crap like a lot of brands Marley has endorsed but I'm such a sucker for that.
There's a whole Muay Thai school of midgets in the beginning which made me hope for some midget mayhem in the finale, but they never go back to it. There's also a random midget candy seller scene, played off for derogatory laughs. Sorry I missed crediting you on that, but in all honesty, the gratuitous foot fetish scenes made me think of you more.
