In Time - thatguy - 02-26-2012 You've probably seen the trailers... Justin Timberlake is from the ghetto in a future where time is money. The poor run out of time, the rich hoard it. When your clock runs out, you clock out. I thought the premise was interesting, but the implementation seemed a little quirky. There's a device for exchanging/storing time credits, like an electronic wallet, but apparently, you can also transfer time credits back and forth by doing a hand clasp. And somehow, the amount you want to transfer is just automatically known. And somehow, transferring credits takes time (like filling a gas tank), but sometimes small transfers take a long time (usually when dramatic effect requires it). Also, it seems like a bad system of monetary exchange if there's no way to keep someone from just grabbing your arm and stealing your credits. There isn't even a PIN! It was OK, not great. I like the "futurized" 60's cars: Continentals (regular and stretch) and Chargers: ![]() ![]() Overall, better than meh... --tg Re: In Time - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 02-26-2012 In "The Future", they apparently have retro-guns, too. The Steyr is so 20th Century. Don't Forget Harlan Ellison - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 02-27-2012 He successfully sued the makers of this film saying they ripped off his "Repent Harlequin, said the Ticktockman" Re: In Time - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 02-27-2012 when will that whiny, washed-up little bastard just die? Re: In Time - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 02-27-2012 Too mean to die. wait, it's the future and all we get is smooth rims? - Drunk Monk - 02-27-2012 where are the flying cars? Where do they stand right now? Go outside. Look at a stretch of road. They're just around the fucking corner. Same as always. Here we go again.
