Haywire - Drunk Monk - 01-06-2012 Brothers! KFM is presenting an advanced screening of HAYWIRE starring Gina Carano on Tues 1/17 in SF, San Jose & Sac. If you want to attend, email me at <!-- e --><a href="mailto:NinjaStar@KungFuMagazine.com">NinjaStar@KungFuMagazine.com</a><!-- e -->. Specify San Francisco, San Jose or Sacramento. I'll reply with a code which you'll input at gofobo.com (you have to register there, but it's a cool film promo site). You'll get 2 passes per account. IT'S FREE! I'll be at the SF one. Where is the LA one? - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-06-2012 Left out again. Re: Haywire ADVANCED SCREENING! - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 01-07-2012 Working. Sigh. GINA! - Drunk Monk - 01-08-2012 Greg Wrote:Left out again.Oh come on. How hard is it to hook up a screener in LA? I'm sure Sal has the connection... Dr. Ivor Yeti Wrote:Working. Sigh. All work and no play makes a dull yeti. Nevertheless, if you know anyone interested, send them my way. What a great idead - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-08-2012 I should call Sal for help. Or I could just go lick an electrical outlet. idead - Drunk Monk - 01-09-2012 There's a totally tasteless Steve Jobs pun in that typo, but I'll spare you. Re: Haywire ADVANCED SCREENING! - cranefly - 01-09-2012 Well, I'm trying to get tickets for Lady Cranefly and self for the San Jose showing, but the gofobo site (that gives you the tickets) is proving formidable. First I had to subscribe. Then I entered the special code in the proper box, and it tells me, "You have registered for this screening. Check 'my fobo' for your screening passes." But when I check my fobo/my screenings, it tells me I don't have any screenings. I've been trying all day, thinking it might just take a while. Still no luck. Oh well. No big deal. I'll just go watch Cyborg shoot steroids. how odd - Drunk Monk - 01-09-2012 It worked fine for the SF screening. It was instant and almost too easy. This is our first co-op w/gofobo. Nice Cyborg reference. I've stood beside her. She's scary. Re: Haywire ADVANCED SCREENING! - cranefly - 01-09-2012 Better beside her than under her with ground and pound. I'm suspecting user error with my gofobo travails. So after quantum physics class tonight I'll give it another go, maybe registering a whole new account. It's not just you. - Drunk Monk - 01-10-2012 Fucking gofobo. It worked fine when I tested it. Now it's not working for anyone. I've been emailing the promoters trying to get it sorted. I'll send out another email once it is fixed. Haywire went haywire. FIXED! - Drunk Monk - 01-10-2012 Damn, what a pain in the arse. What I have to go through to get 600 of my closest friends and frenemies into a free showing. The promoters tell me that they've never had this problem with gofobo before. gofigure. gofuckugofobo. CF, I emailblasted the fix, so you should have received that by now. Enjoy the show! Now to get on top of today's work from this morning.... Re: Haywire ADVANCED SCREENING! - cranefly - 01-10-2012 Thanks, DM. Your workaround worked, and I've got two tickets printed out. Next Tuesday I'll be standing Cyborg up. Hope she doesn't get pissed. She can get pretty temperamental, inside and outside the cage. Gina here I come! Oh, wait a sec. I'm taking Lady Cranefly... glad to hear it - Drunk Monk - 01-11-2012 I've moved about a third of the tickets for each house. If you have friends interested, feel free to pass it along. Re: Haywire ADVANCED SCREENING! - cranefly - 01-17-2012 I stood in line for an hour and twenty minutes and was sixth in line when they cut us off. Bloody hell, what the hey, etc.? Oh well, you lose some and you lose some. But here's something that puzzles me. Maybe one of you can fill me in on the secret handshake or whatever was going on. Because this guy comes out and counts along the line, then tells the people maybe ten behind me, "From this point on back, you might as well go on home, because I can guarantee that you're not getting in." But the people stay. Virtually all of them stay in line. We're talking around 50 people. Then, later on, as they keep letting a few more in and I finally move up to sixth, the guy comes back and says, "We just let in the last four. That's it. We're done here. All of you, just go on home." That seemed pretty damned clear to me, yet only a couple of us abandoned the line and headed for the parking lot. The rest of them -- over 50 people -- stayed stubbornly in line. So. Did I get faked out? Was the guy lying? Was there some mysterious "we're full but we're not really full" game being played, and I didn't know the rules? Or are all those people who stayed in line so bereft of lives (or brain cells) that they'd just as soon stand there for another couple hours for no good reason? Again, enlightenment would be good. --A very cold and discombobulated cranefly Re: Haywire ADVANCED SCREENING! - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-18-2012 Grrr. They always over book the screenings because they figure ten percent or more of the people who say they are going to show, don't show up. And heaven forbid they should have an empty seat especially if studio suits are going to be in the house. As for standing around even after the cut-off, think of it as your body dealing with the fact you've done all that waiting for a reward and now there is no reward. |
