Freakonomics - Drunk Monk - 09-13-2011

I've enjoyed the smattering of articles I've read on Freakonomics, but the movie was so full of itself that I just couldn't hang with it. There was a segment on corruption in sumo that was interesting, but the rest wasn't very engaging - the presenters and filmmakers were too hung up on their own smarmy style. Very disappointing.

It made me long for James Burke's Connections.

Burke/Connections! I haven't thought about series in years! I remember it being outstanding. I liked the book quite a bit and like the NPR Marketplace spots.

That's what I need to netflix! - Drunk Monk - 09-15-2011

It was Connections that got me into gin & tonics. I still drink those, especially when I'm feeling a little under the weather. Good medicine!
